Fertility Fellowship for Gynecologists

Our online courses have been developed for gynaecologists with interest in fertility.This course addresses the need for specific knowledge in the management of subfertile couples which is not usually covered in detail as part of traditional postgraduate training. This is in line with the increasing demand for fertility services and IVF treatments. During this course you will learn about the reproductive system, evidence based protocols in the management of subfertility issues in both the male and female and overview about Assisted Reproduction Techniques.

On completion of this course you will be able to demonstrate:

An understanding of the evaluation of subfertile couple and management options.
An understanding of the evaluation of subfertile couple and management options.
Gain knowledge regarding protocols in ovulation induction &IUI (Intra Uterine Insemination) and understanding the various techniques in ART-Assisted Reproductive Techniques.
Current ART law and the requirements and eligibility to set up ART clinics
Knowledge regarding andrology and embryological aspects of ART.
Overview of Reproductive genetics and latest advances in ART
An ability to use knowledge to adapt professional practice to meet the changing demands of healthcare systems.

Course Curriculum

Our online course is for 10 calender months. The course comprises of several modules covering various aspects of reproductive medicine.

Module 1: Overview- Reproductive System

You will develop a critical understanding of the anatomy, physiology and endocrinology of reproduction.

Module 2: Evaluation of subfertile couple

you will understand how to evaluate an infertile couple including history taking, examination and investigations when couples present with subfertility issues.

Module 3: Male subfertility -causes and management.

You will develop an in-depth understanding of the pathophysiology underlying male infertility, and evidence based treatment options related to male infertility.

Module 4: Female subfertility -causes and management.

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of the causes of female infertility and evidence based approach to the management of female subfertility.

Module 5: IUI-Intra Uterine Insemination

Gain knowledge on the indications, protocols and how to perform IUI including hands on session at preparation of semen for IUI.

Module 6: Genetics and Reproduction including management of recurrent pregnancy losses.

Module 7: ART law & setting up ART clinics-level 1

Module 8: Andrology & embryology for clinicians.(Hands on practice - semen preparation for IUI)

Module 9-Assisted reproduction and ethics including third party reproduction

You will develop knowledge regarding various ART-Assisted Reproductive Techniques currently available, and an awareness of the ethical dilemmas surrounding assisted reproduction.

Module 10: Recent advances in ART -Assisted Reproductive Technologies- evidence based approach

Assessment

Log books and case discussions, theory exam and viva will form part of assessment.

At the end of each module, a descriptive summary of what has been learned, change in everyday practice with knowledge gained and whether meeting personal learning objectives are looked into.
